Washington, D.C.

My time at our nation's capital...

When did you visit Washington, D.C.?

I visited D.C. two times in my life. One time was during middle school back in 2010. The other time was when I visited again during my senior year of high school in 2015. For the time I was going to D.C. in 2010, I was visiting with my family to see one of my cousins graduate from high school. As for the 2015 visit, that was for another concert band competition that was taking place that year in Washington, D.C.

For both of those ocassions, I stayed for about a week in D.C. I also got to see some of my relatives that were around that area as well for both years.

What did you do over there?

During the 2010 visit, I primarily saw my cousin graduate from High School at his graduation ceremony. Afterwards, I toured D.C. with my family as we saw various places around D.C. like the World War II Memorial and Jefferson Memorial. This was done while we stayed at one of our relative's places in Maryland.

During the 2015 visit, I performed in another national concert band competition with my high school concert band. Our high school's concert band ended up winning the competition just like in Seattle during 2014. During that time, we also visited other historical locations over in D.C. that I didn't view during 2010.

Are there any other words you want to say about Washington, D.C.?

Washington, D.C. is a pretty neat place to visit. There's plenty to see in our nation's capital. However, there are a few things I want to recommend to people before they consider visiting.

Washington, D.C. is pretty humid during warm weather, especially during the summer. That also means there's plenty of snow during winter season with really cold weather. I would go during the fall or spring so you can enjoy decent weather without it being too cold or warm. Other than that, I think it's worth it to visit D.C. at least once.
